Writes about Download The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) PDFThis was not a series of books for me. This was (and although I rarely admit it, is) my life. I read the series every year - always aiming to finish it on July 31st: Harry's birthday. I used to (and still would if I could) pretend to be Harry, or Hermione in reception! I told all my friends to read them (just as my sister had when she was younger and the first books had only just come out) - always persisting that these books were nothing short of revolutionary (considering I was in primary school myself, this was a big thing)! I have grown up with Harry - from being read it as a child to compulsively obsessing over it. For my entire life, Hermione has been my role model! If you haven't read them...I don't know you.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookI don't care to admit how many times I've read this series, because it's a little indecent. Let's just say I'm a fan, okay? Having grown up reading C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia and Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy, I was primed for another installment of a young, unlikely hero marked by fate to battle the forces of evil, getting by with a little help from his friends. Unlike some Tolkien/Lewis buffs, I am not offended by Rowling's similarities to their works, because archetypes are the backbone of literature. I also think Rowling writes adolescent/young adult mentalities extremely well. And let's face it; I love the British and their ways, and would have loved boarding school. (Like my friend Ari says, my first choice for my Masters would have been Hogwarts.) Anyway, I've read them all numerous times, but thus far, books three and four are still my favorites. However, I am currently reading five and six again, and I have a feeling they will grow on me. Five (Order of the Phoenix) is a little less palatable because of Harry's anger management issues and overwhelming angst, but at least the plot developments with the Ministry of Magic and the Department of Mysteries are exciting. I look forward to re-reading six in preparation for Deathly Hallows to search for information regarding my final "theories."

Writes about Download The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) PDFMy nephews and nieces gave me this set, and I've so much enjoyed reading them. This family got me hooked onto Harry. I'd be at their House, and they'd have Harry games, Harry this and Harry that. I could tell I better get caught up quick, so I read the first four books quite quickly, then I felt I was caught up with my family. As the movies started coming out, I'd read all the book up to and including the movie book each time, so I've read or listened to them all at least 3 or more times each, usually more. Books 1-4 are much more innocent than the last two. Book 3 starts getting a little dark, and much more in the last ones. I like how she has matured the kids in her writing. That has been one of the most pleasant parts to read, and of course how much smarter the better educated they are too.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookThis series is an integral part of my childhood. It taught me to dream, imagine, create- and all other things that are essential to life. I remember my grade school and how I and my classmates would imagine that we are in Hogwarts. It was that good. It inspired young children and even adults to believe and imagine. All great things come to an end but the epic that is Harry Potter will continue to live on. Someday when I'll have a family of my own, I'll encourage my children to read Harry Potter. No book can be compared to this series- it is a timeless masterpiece. All is well.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFI still remembered that day, years ago, when I stumbled upon the first book. I thought, why on earth that a book about young wizard sitting on the popular bookshelves. I took one home out of curiosity and from then on, I am enchanted. I also still remembered the scent of the last book of the series, so bittersweet, because after that turn of the last page, there will be no more stories about friendship, love, sacrifice and moreover, courage.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFOf all these books, the first was my favorite. The series gets very dark--extremely thought provoking which I absolutely loved. And yet, nothing is like the whimsy and falling in love-ness I associate with the introduction we get to Hogwarts, Harry, Hermione and Ron. Thoroughly delightful--all of my children have also enjoyed these well-written imaginative stories.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFThe series of Harry Potter include 7 books: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone; Harry potter and the Chamber of Secrets; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I loved reading all of these books, and my favorite book was the Order of the Phoenix. It is when Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley are preparing for war against Voldemort. Whilst all of that is going on, the Ministry of Magic doesn't want to believe Harry about Voldemort rising up to power. Will they be ready to attack without the Mistry of Magic's help? Or will Voldemort and his followers win?

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFThis was a very good book. After the first time reading the first book, I doubted Rowling could do any better. How wrong I was. This book is just as good as the first, filled with humor, action, and friendship. I now know why it has been such a good series. This book is about Harry Potter, who is attending his second year at Hogwarts. He faces many challenges there and at his Uncle's house. He also receives a warning from a mysterious creature that he is in danger-and Lord Voldemort will return.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookI held off on reading these book until the third one came out and I got them all for Christmas. I was immediately hooked! The storyline was great and the characters were fun and easy to relate to (you know without the magic aspect). This was an interesting continuation of the series. I really liked the friendship relationships of all the characters and I really feel like Hermione is coming into her own. This was my favorite book in the series. I thought the interplay of the characters in the tournament was fun and entertaining. This is also my favorite interplay between Hermione and Ron and the jealousy that each displays giving off a humorous vibe to the book.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFThe first book I read from the Harry Potter series was the third one, Prisoner of Azkaban; it remained my favourite until the later books were published. The series is fantastic, as the world wide fandom can testify. The sotries are moving and magical, and although the content of Harry's story is quite dark - an orphaned boy who has an abusive childhood only to discover at the age of 11 that he is a wizard and famous in the undergroud wizarding world and that his parents were murdered by the most powerful dark wizard ever, Lord Voldemort who incidentally wants Harry dead - Rowling communicates it in such a way that it doesn't appear to be so dark and opressive as it can at times appear in the later books. This book series changed my life and many others'. I would recommend it to anyone. These first three books are much lighter than the following four books and would younger children, say about eight years old, as well as yound adults and adults.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookIf you're a fan of Dianna Wynne Jones, you may find the first book enjoyable but bordering on pastiche. It's very similar to the Chrestomanci world. That said, it's a fun read and leads you into a world that DWJ fans would find familiar and interesting. The second book, Chamber of Secrets, is a bit more of the same, also enjoyable. I would give both these books maybe 3 1/2 stars. It's not until you read Prisoner of Azkaban that Harry Potter really comes into its own. This is where the world starts getting a lot darker and more complicated, and the DWJ comparison starts to fade away. Where DWJ's books often sticks closely to their junior fiction roots, Harry Potter in the third book starts to break away and verge into Young Adult territory, with the characters starting to develop a lot more, and Harry's flaws becoming a bit more obvious. He isn't a perfect hero by any means. It was a while ago since I read it but Prisoner of Azkaban remains one of my favourites in the series.

Writes about Download The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) PDFHey, I read Harry Potter he was famous. I don't know why I said that...just being annoyingly pretentious I guess. I'm weird like that.Anyway, it was a warm summer's day in 2000 when I picked up this boxset of the first four books of the HP series. Even though I wasn't the target audience for these books I nevertheless found it good enough to invest the time to read them all. Now that the series has ended I can ask myself what was so great about the Potter books? They certainly aren't the best fantasy books ever written. They definitely aren't the best children's books ever written. Yet author J.K Rowling hit the motherlode here. I think it's due to the cyclical interest in fantasy and the public's tendency to jump on the bandwagon of something popular. Hey, anything that gets kids reading again is okay by me.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookHarry Potter is, at this point, an Iconic kids book. I am still up in the air at this point wether to book is good enough for 'everyone' to read wether you like fantasy or not, so I am going to give it 4 stars, but it is close. Rowlings captures the wonder of magic, and being thrown into the center of that world at a young age as she wisks the reader along for the journey that harry takes from starting school to leaving school. The thing I found most interesting was that with each book, the storytelling seemed to mature right along with the characters. I must admit to being a bit tainted by the movies. The first movie got me to read the series. The books, except for the first book, outshine the movies significantly.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFOkay. I did not actually read this version. I read the books seperately like a normal person, but I found this on the web and thought I should review it. Yeah, I have to say, I liked the first four books. Probably my favourite one in this four books is either the (1) book or the (4) book. The first one is because that I love the way the author can express so much in so little words, and the story is actually pretty interesting, and is a perfect start and intro to the series. The fourth book because it is the most adventurous in the four books, with, you know, the Triwizard tournaments and stuff. I chose it as one of my favourite because in this story, Voldemort, the dark lord that is almost destroyed by Harry Potter, has returned and has killed Cedric Diggory.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookBooks 1 and 2 read more as very young adult fiction, but Rowling really opens into a deeper world with books 3 and 4. 4 is one of my favorites as it gets out of the bubble of Hogwarts and reveals more of the magical world in which Harry Potter resides. It surprises me how many of my high school students have not read any of the HP books, let alone the entire series. This is due in big part to the films, but still, the books have so much more in them and so much more to offer the reader. Harry Potter is true escapist fiction. The detail of the world created by Rowling is astounding. Kudos.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookI love all Harry Potter Books. I read them so often, that it feels like I lived in Hogwards together with Harry, Ron and Hermione. The moment I am opening a Harry Potter (just anyone of them) I forget everything around me until I finished it. Usually it even takes me some days after I finished reading it to really waking up from the world of J.K. Rowling. The Harry-Potter books are those kind of books with which I get really sad, when I finished reading them. Unfortunately they are so exciting that it doesn't take me long to read them.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFEnjoyable stories, the scenes with the Dursleys are hands down the best, I love it when Dudley is stuffing his face while Harry is served a meager portion. These read almost like a "who done it?" type of novel and keep you guessing the whole way through. As far as the message, there are still fairly clear lines between good and evil, Harry and his company are display many virtuous traits. My primary complaint is with Harry's dishonesty, but this can also serve to show that the characters while protagonists are not themselves completely pure and can always be tempted by evil.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFI'm reading the first book right now. And I love it! I'm going to start and possibly finish the whole series this summer. I love J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books because they give excitement to her readers and I'm pretty sure at the end they leave the readers thinking what happens next. Even though I'm not at the end yet I'm pretty sure that it WILL leave me thinking what happens next so I can read the other 6 books. I can't wait to read the next book Harry Potter and the chamber os Secrets because the 1st book Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone is sooo amazing.

Writes about Read Online The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) Book PDFThe Harry Potter Collection is good for children reading on an advanced level (4th or 5th grade). The books start out innocently enough, and get darker and darker as Harry gets older. So, you should expect the child to read one book a year based on J.K. Rowling's sequencing. It's about a boy whose parents were killed and he was left behind to live with his aunt and uncle. Harry discovers that he has powers and ends up going to a magic school. Throughout his life he tries to find out how to kill 'you know who' because he killed Harry's parents, and because he wants to kill Harry.

Writes about Download The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) PDFI'm pretty sure that I will buy this collection for my children in the future. I had such a wonderful time in my youth reading Harry Potter. I can remember that I got anxious waiting for each new book release arrive on the bookstores' shelves. My sister and I read all the book colection borrowed from my cousin and of course my cousin read the new book release before us and we rushed her reading time. And after everybody read, we discussed our points of views. I miss these times...

Writes about Download The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) PDFI grew up with Harry Potter and although I think there are many faults with the series (namely that Rowling needed a better editor in books 4-7 - genuinely, who wants to read like 10 chapters of a tent moving around?) I absolutely love it.I will also secretly admit to reading fan fiction and seeing how others perceive and utilise the universe/concepts/characters. So much so that I no longer know if the facts and opinions I have of the series come from canon or fanon.

Writes about Reading The Harry Potter Collection 1-4 (Harry Potter, #1-4) BookI never thought that the Harry Potter books would be very interesting and a fun read. My family borrowed the books on CD at the library and we listened to them during our road trip. The time went by quickly that way. Right now I am reading the 6th book of the series and am loving it. I would totally read these books over and over again. I would recommend them to anyone. Even if wizards aren't your thing, you will enjoy these books.
